Navigating after a wildfire can be complex. What needs to be done? Who can help? The ‘After Wildfire’ guide was created to help communities and individuals after experiencing a destructive wildfire. Introduction: Purpose of the ‘After Wildfire Guide’ Photo Courtesy of the US Forest Service.

Where to Find the Guide The guide was designed as a website, and that is where you’ll find the most up-to- date information. You can download printed versions from the website, or obtain paper copies from New Mexico State Forestry.

Sections of the Guide Immediate Safety What do I need to know about safety in the wake of a destructive wildfire? Key points are to not return home or go to a burned area until you are informed it is safe to do so, and preparing for the threat of post-wildfire flooding
