How it affects long term? There are only few long term affects of epilepsy but the ones that exist are very serious. If a person with epilepsy continues to have many seizures and don’t get them treated the right way it could cause brain injury status epilepticus and also sudden unexplained death. Unexplained death are not very common but can happen if the epilepsy is under treated or not treated right. There are only few long term affects of epilepsy but the ones that exist are very serious. Treatment options and Effectiveness  There are several types of drug treatments for epilepsy. But you need to know what type of epilepsy you have before you can know what type of drugs you need to be given. Medications can control about 70% of seizures in patients.  ating-epilepsy

Is It Hereditary ► Epilepsy is hereditary but it will not always be passed down through every generation ► Contagious? Absolutely Not. ► Signs and symptoms - Generalized seizures are caused by abnormal electrical impulses in the brain and typically occur with no warning. ► sy/signs_and_symptoms.html

What Tests Are Used To Diagnose? Epilepsy EEG Test -This test tracks electrical signals from the brain. New blood test can determine if seizures are caused by epilepsy or another disorder. Epilepsy comes with many different types of seizures so doctors will probably ask many different questions and do tests having to do with your family history. espy-diagnosis-tests

Like public places many people with the disease will never be able to drive but there are there are therapies that can help out with adjusting to the way of living and learning to deal with the seizures of there everyday life. Life for these people is very hard and with living comes many restrictions and responsibilities that have to be followed or there lives could be threatened. Permanent Damage To The Body  Most damage caused to the body from epileptic seizures is indirect. Like for example when a person is having a seizure and they fall and hit there head. But Epileptic seizures during pregnancy can cause death and also fluid could drain into the lungs during a seizure witch could cause lifetime damage to the lungs.  Epileptic Seizures cause your body to tense up and all the muscles tighten which can cause permanent damage to the muscles.

Natural Remedies? ► There are natural remedies for this disease… Whether or not I would try those is a different story because most forms of epilepsy are not life long and they have prescription medicine that I know wouldn’t be something crazy. But there are so many different forms of epilepsy and epileptic seizures that no one would be able to know witch kind they had to be able to treat it on there own. So I would definitely suggest going to a doctor and having an expert opinion on the situation.
