The application window for the assessment cycle for first time candidates and Take One! participants is now open. NC-NBC Process
Leave Days: 3 days – new candidates only Be eligible for the loan but you dont have to take it. Clear SP2 License
TAKE ONE Who Can Take One!? *teachers as well as induction or pre-service teachers, *principals, *administrators, *professors in colleges of education Take One! is classroom-based professional development and requires that educators have access to a preK-12 classroom to complete the portfolio entry.
Banking What is score banking? Save the Take One Score and use it for full certification Bank good scores for 2 years and retake the areas that they didnt do well If I only complete one part of the assessment process, will my scores be automatically banked or do I need to notify NBPTS?
Renewal Certified already; good for 10 years Start in 8 th year; risky to wait until the 9th year Renewals - pay their own fees 2 CEUs- requirement now (first time 7.5 CEUs)

Special Note: Once a NC candidates has been approved for the loan, the state will not submit the $2,500 to the National Board until the candidate sign the promissory note.
Special Note: North Carolina NBC Candidates must have 10 score entries to receive 7.5 CEUs.
Special Note: North Carolina retake candidates who withdraw from the process, will not have to repay the $350 to the state.
