Process for Driver’s License Today n What is the Internet? n Rules of the Road n Take the Test n Take home Internet Use Agreement to have parents sign it.

Process for Driver’s License n By Dec. 20 n Return the signed Internet Use Agreement to your homeroom teacher. n Homeroom teacher will then have you sign your own Driver’s License n Homeroom teachers will then turn in the license and agreement to the Learning Center, where they will be processed.

Process for Driver’s License Sometime in Jan.?? n Teachers can arrange a day with Mrs. Norman for student training of: n Navigational skills for using the Internet. n Review of the rules of the road. n During that training, teachers will receive the following: n How to start up Internet Access for the students n How to trouble shoot problems that might arise while using Netscape.

What is a form on the Internet?

Rules of the Road n Using the network for any illegal activity n Using another user’s account or password n Invading the privacy of individuals n Posting material authored or created by another without his/her consent

Rules of the Road n Accessing, downloading or posting any defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, racially offensive, harassing, or illegal material. n Using the network for private financial or commercial gain n Posting anonymous messages n Using the network while access privileges are suspended or revoked.

Network Etiquette n Have good manners. Be polite. n Always obey copyright laws. n Never knowingly post or forward information that’s not true. n Ask for help when you need it.

Network Etiquette n Do not reveal personal addresses or telephone numbers n Do not use the network in any way that would disrupt its use by others.

Vandalism n This will result in cancellation of privileges and other disciplinary action. n Vandalism is any attempt to harm or destroy something that belongs to someone else.

Telephone Charges The district will not be held responsible for any unauthorized charges or fees, including phone charges, long- distance charges, etc.

Compensation n The user will pay any district losses, costs or damages, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of any breach of authorization.
