Guide to Sustainable Materials Selection, evaluation: The objective of this guide is to be used in conjunction with the Getting Started with CES EduPack guide from Granta Design to familiarize undergraduates in mechanical engineering with the principles of sustainable materials selection and with the use of CES Edu Eco Audit and materials selection tools. This guide should prepare students for exercises in materials selection and Eco Audits such as Selection Homework 2 in MECE 210. Please indicate strength/weakness of guide in each category with a score from 0-5 (0 for prohibitively poor to 5 for excellent) CategoryScore Guide provides… awareness of environmental impacts of material choices awareness of impacts of entire life cycle of product instruction in the materials selection process such as used with CES Edu instruction in product sustainability analysis such as CES Edu Eco Audit instruction in weighing multiple objectives using material property charts Additional qualities… Clarity of content Relevance of content to materials selection and sustainability analysis with CES Edu Organization of content (logical flow, easy to locate relevant information) Completeness of content Informative examples and illustrations Specific procedure instructions Integrates well with exercises and illustrations in the Getting Sarted with CES guide Guide evaluation
