Diversity in Wholesale Model

Optical Fibre Optical fibre is a thin glass or plastic strand that carries light along its length Light is shone from lasers down the fibre and detected by a receiver at the other end Light within the fibre does not escape because of cable design They don’t conduct electricity and thus you can never get a shock and they are immune to electrical interference. It is capable of transmitting information at a practically unlimited rate over tens of kilometres. Passive Optical Network is a “shared” fibre service used to connect households - the lasers located in a central location (FAN) and within the ONT at each home.
