1 SIGMETRICS Viability Review Carey Williamson Chair, ACM SIGMETRICS September 20, 2010 SIGMETRICS focuses on Measurement and Evaluation. We promote research in computer systems performance evaluation, including the theoretical development of new performance analysis techniques, as well as the practical use of known methods and tools in diverse application areas (e.g., CPU, OS, networks, P2P, storage, Web, wireless).

2 Financial Status Healthy fund balance ($460K) Steady growth over past 20 years ($15K/yr) Small surplus from each conference Expanded conference partnerships About 500 members, but slowly declining Dues ($20) unchanged for many years Digital Library revenues solid (1M downloads!) Interest income on nest egg helpful as well Contemplating new spending initiatives
