Integrating SPP Indicators into EPSS Plans Theresa Griffin-Golden, Director of Secondary Special Education and BJ Hartford, Director of Elementary Special Education Rio Rancho Public Schools Summer Transition Institute June 9-11, 2008
What are SPP Indicators? 20 specific data targets that the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has mandated that each state must assess and report in its Annual Performance Report (APR). The indicators represent key areas in which schools need to improve in order to increase student’s short-term and long-term achievements and outcomes. (Think of this as an IEP for the State.)
What is EPSS? The Educational Plan for Student Success is a long range strategic plan to promote student success and continuous school improvement. EPSS is a written guide for the district and schools. It gives a clear picture of where the district is today, set targets or milestones for the future and documents progress toward district/school goals.
