The Land: South Africa has beautiful long beaches and lush forests, grasslands, deserts, mountains, lots of wildlife, and unusual plants. It also has the world’s largest gold mine. Weather: South Africa’s seasons are opposite ours. Summer (December through February) is hot and rainy. In the middle of the country, it may freeze in the winter.

More Quick Facts South Africa Animals: If you like animals, Kruger National Park is home to all kinds of animals—and it’s a big home. It’s as big as England! Near Cape Town, you can visit a colony of more than 1,000 penguins. Assemblies of God Facts: Currently 44 missionaries work in South Africa.
