Simulating ITA Scenarios using Battlefield 2 Helen Bowyer – TA4 – Project 10 – IBM UK
Battlefield 2 Battlefield 2 was used as the base simulation environment as before.
Architecture
Project Reality Each mission was simulated using the Project Reality modification of Battlefield 2. Less on screen help and more realistic to real life. E.g. Bleeding to death. The environment was modified to provide UK forces with weapons similar to those used by UK forces today.
Data Collected During the simulation we recorded all their verbal communication and their position and health in the simulation environment.
The Scenarios The missions have been developed in consultation with Major Ed Gentle to study aspects of the mission covered in the broader Holistan scenario. The overall mission was the clear Route Dragon to allow the remainder of the Battle Group to move up to the northern town.
