History – déjà vue all over again Mr. Atkinson expressed interest in several items and the WG agreed to further discuss the following: 1.Why do numbers need to be geographic – is there a number boundary? 2.Impact of nomadic and/or mobile numbers vis-a-vis VoIP and/or cellular – when area codes cease to be meaningful. 3.Do LATAs continue to exist? 4.Do rate centers continue to exist? 5.Marketplace allocation/solutions of numbering resources – buying/selling using a marketplace allocation approach as opposed to regulatory allocation system. 6.Who owns the number? 7.What are the system and network topology impacts? 8.What are the GSM North America issues – Anna Miller? 9.Are there international roaming issues? Digit Dialing? 11.What is the tipping point question? (From the FoN 11/16/2004 Meeting Minutes, Item 7 FON Work/Analysis Issues) 6
