National Thousands Block Number Pooling Services NANC Meeting November 19, 2002

2 Rollout Update Since implementation of the national rollout began on January 4, 2002 there have been 64 First Implementation Meetings (FIMs) for 97 NPAs (including overlays and splits in permissive dialing). The FIMs for the 4Q of the rollout schedule were completed on October 17, The schedule for the 5Q of the rollout was posted on October 31, The FIMS for the 5Q of the rollout will begin on December 4, 2002 and end on February 5, 2003.

3 Wireless Pooling Intra-SP ports and donations were completed on November 1. Over 1900 blocks that were identified to the PA on August 15 as donations were taken back by service providers for various reasons prior to November 1. –A list of the take backs detailing the areas, number of blocks, service providers and reasons for the take backs (where available) has been forwarded to the FCC. A revised assessment was completed by the PA on November 15. –States affected – 12 –Total NPAs affected – 19 –Total Rate Centers affected - 23 –Forecasted – 2065 blocks –Donated – 1453 blocks –Number of codes that will need to be opened – 77 NXX codes –Number of codes needed at first assessment - 17 First date for wireless service providers to apply for a block was November 4.
