Some early publications are known by generic names, or by the names of Buddhist monasteries where they were published, such as Kasuga-ban, Kōya-ban, Gozan-ban, kokatsuji-ban, dōban, etc. These statements do not normally appear in the resources but are found in specialized bibliographies and reference sources.
