EPS Release 2 Rebecca Pierce & Bet Rudge

You are ready…. Do you have working smartcards? Are your nominations in a cupboard on paper – not on the spine? Can you put your token in the printer the right way around? To get smartcards, you need a sponsor – NHS England Process Requests from sponsors for staff - UIM request, contact to book appointment NHS Choices is the reference point for your pharmacy

A script may arrive TODAY if NHS Choices shows you are ready… Most pharmacies are ready

standard text will be printed in the signature box to prevent the prescriber from hand signing it Or a patient might bring a prescription token for you to pull down from the spine barcode

Do you have a sponsor in place?

Sponsors make requests for staff via UIM

A request to become a sponsor is via NHS England LPC website details the process including the FFFFF code process prescription-service-eps/bassetlaw/

Dispensing tokens barcode standard text will be printed in the signature box to prevent it from being hand signed The GP may put messages on the counterfoil for the patient Sponsor with no card

Key Contact Information: For Appointments in Bassetlaw Phone IT support to book appointment - generally Tuesday afternoon and Thursday Morning. Sessions are available at Doncaster / Barnsley and Sheffield on request. NHS England sign as the sponsor for sponsors

Smartcard Changes UIM2 – is in development due Autumn 2014 –‘CareID’ but confirmation of this new name is yet to be agreed. Information from smartcards will be transferred to UIM2, ready for existing systems to be switched off in December. Processes will need to be revised but e-learning training will be available from HSCIC to support sponsors. A communication plan is being developed by the Project Manager for UIM2 Recommendation: Arrange smartcards now!
