Future Trends in Environmental Reporting Norwegian Input

Norwegian Environment Agency  Miljødirektoratet  Established July  Directorate for Nature Management + Climate and Pollution Agency  Concequence: We may be a bit “narrow-minded” at present

Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI)

Norwegian - SDI  Focus on National SDI  Has a National Object catalogue (SOSI)  Lots of View-services (WMS)  National Geoportal not so successfull Ongoing project to redesign geonorge.no  Download services (WFS) – «sitting on the fence»

Inspire - Status  Active participation in drafting teams  Norway: 2 years delayed (EØS/EEA)  We are already shearing data  Data spesifications: Inspire has more elaborate models in some areas how to incorporate?  Technology Software is still missing National host?

Reporting

 Current strategi is to use Reportnet  A lot of manual work is involved ref. WISE, Noise dir.  Little discussion about «streamlining», SEIS…  Lack of information about Pilot-activities (Air, UWWD)

SOER plans  Participating in SENSE 3  Planning to participate in «experimenting» part

Environment.no – Current projects

Indicator catalogue

 Helps us keep track of our national indicatorsindicators  Integrated on environment.no and linked to the graphs shown in Miljøtall  Every indicator has one fact sheet (meta information) - Whether the indicator has data or not - Responsible agency - Link to matching international indicator  Will eventually be available to the public

Miljøtall  More environmental data available to the public  We can share our graphs: Implement on other websites Adjusted to view on mobile phones/pads Downloadable (vector/raster)  Graphs are automatically updated with new data input.  Metadata and data available for all graphs  More efficient graph making (from static to interactive)

Mobile Map Application  Prize for best utility app  200 layers  20 institutions

How to keep up with  Open data – data.norge.no  Spatial data – Inspire  Digitalisation of public sector  Web development  Mobile computing
