Georgia Department of Economic Development You have just been hired by the Georgia Department of Economic Development as a public relations specialist. Your mission is to raise awareness of the state in order to bring in new economic opportunities. You are responsible for a publicity campaign in which you raise awareness of and attempt to convince your market that the state of Georgia is THE place to be. Your position is up to you: are you a Director of Tourism, or an Economic Development and Trade Specialist? Do you want to bring tourists or businesses to the state? How will you convince people to visit or companies to relocate here?

Required Components Must discuss the advantages of regional geography, climate, and transportation in your campaign. May work individually or in a group, but each person must have a defined job: writer, performer, researcher, illustrator, etc. If you do a video, the camera person must have another job. Project proposal: includes group members, jobs of each, project you intend to complete, and a mock-up of your final product. For a video, this includes a script and list of scenes you will shoot (storyboard). For a print campaign (ads, posters, brochures, etc.) you need a rough draft and sketch of each item and a press release for local newspapers and magazines.

Grading Rubric Did you include the advantages of regional geography, climate, and transportation in your campaign? (30 points) Did you complete your job in the group? (20 points) Did you turn in a project proposal? (15 points) Is your final product neat, clearly presented, and written/spoken according to the rules of standard English? (15 points) Did you use appropriate props, sets, costumes, and/or design techniques? (15 points) Did you go above the minimum in creativity and/or quantity? (up to 10 points) DUE SEPTEMBER 2!
