Over the last two terms we have been learning all about Islam with our teacher Miss Monaco. We have chosen some of our favourite facts. We hope that you enjoy looking at our slide show. Amy, Steven and Dale

Amy – Muslims believe Allah loves everyone.

Dale Muhammad was 40 years old when he went into a cave. An angel visited Muhammad and told him a message from Allah.

Steven Muhammad grew up to be a kind man. He cared about poor people. He cared about ill people. He cared about hungry people.

Amy Muslims pray on a prayer mat. They need to face Mecca.

Muhammad is the most important man in Islam. Muhammad was a prophet. A prophet is a special religious messenger. He started the religion of Islam. Dale

Muslims pray to Allah in a mosque. They take their shoes off and they have to wash their feet and hands. Steven

The top of the tower is called a minaret. The muezzin calls people to prayer from here. The roof is the shape of a dome. AMY

Dale Ramadan is the month of fasting. Muslims dont eat for a month when the sun shines. They can eat when it is dark. It is a time of worship. Ramadan ends when the new moon comes up.

Steven Muslims celebrate Eid Ul Fitr at the end of Ramadan. They have a big party and they get new clothes. They give money to the poor. Special cards which say Eid Mubarak are given which means Joyful Festival.

What I liked learning about Islam Amy – It was good because of the cake that we saw on the video. Muslims eat cake to celebrate Eid Ul Fitr. Steven- It was fun to learn more about Islam. I liked to learn about the mosques. Dale – It was brilliant to learn more about Ramadan and Eid because I didnt know what they were before.
