Objectives Educate Information & Referral specialists on services available to Military Personnel and their Families Discuss client eligibility/non-eligibility Detailed information on the Army Community Service Programs

Army Community Services - Mission Assist commanders in maintaining readiness of individuals, Families, and communities within Americas Army by developing, coordinating, and delivering services which promote self-reliance, resiliency, and stability during war and peace.

Client Eligibility (Army Regulation 608-1) All Active Duty and Retired military personnel and their family members Members of U.S. Army National Guard and Reserve when on active duty and their family members Appropriate fund and non appropriated fund employees and their family members (Dept of Defense Civilian Employees) Surviving Family members of military personnel who died while on active duty Family members of prisoners of war or personnel missing in action (POW/MIA)

Not Eligible Veterans and their Families This is a Soldier that was in the military for a short amount of time but didnt complete 20 years of Service Disabled Veterans and their Families National Guard and Reserve Soldiers (Title 32) Retired National Guard and Reserve Soldiers if theyre not age 60 and have a Retired ID card.

Army Emergency Relief (AER) Private Non Profit Corporation incorporated in 1942 by the Secretary of War & the Army Chief of Staff. Receives contributions from active and retired Soldiers (14.2%), repayment of AER interest-free loans (65.1%), investment income (20.3%), and unsolicited contributions (0.4%). Primary mission is to provide emergency financial assistance to Soldiers (active and retired) and their Families. In 2011 AER provided $77.5 MILLION to more than 64,000 Soldiers and their Families. AER assists 10.5% of Active Force each year with 92% of assistance going to SSG and below

Who does AER help? Active and Retired Soldiers and their dependents U. S. Army National Guard and Reserve Soldiers on continuous active duty for more than 30 days (Title 10) and their dependents Surviving spouses and orphans of Soldiers who died while on active duty or after they retired
