MD8 overview The latest software update was done in June. The software running Solaris and Red Hat Linux operating systems with Oracle database. All the MD8 software features are working properly including the server and local database agent. There are two new components which were configured - Mod_jk enable to handle Java Server Pages requests to be served on the port 80 - Procmail is enabled for submitting metadata into the system via .

Future plan In MD8 the installation process can be done in 7 steps. - Configuration of the Software - Ant installation - Tomcat Installation - Jython installation - Database creation - Download the latest export file from GCMD and import data to the database - LDA configuration The proposed changes on the installation interface are: - Add the possibility to install mod_jk and procmail module - Enable to choose the type of database server ( Oracle / Postgres ) Figuring out the best method to add an interface for web mapping to search and show Georeferenced data.
