Senior Boards Presentations

Arrival on Campus Arrive at least minutes before your designated time. IMPORTANT – Check-in at the table in the Senior Lounge. You will be directed from here to your presentation room.

Presenting in the Room Enter the room and shake hands with the judges and introduce yourself. Then ask for a moment to set up. Place your flash drive in the computer. Pull up all the files you’ll be using so they are easily accessible Minimize the ones you won’t be using right away Briefly, check the volume for any audio or video files with the existing laptop and Smartboard. If applicable, pull up your Weebly. Presentation files should be on the presentation tab. You can also refer to your website at any time during your presentation or during the question/answer period. Full screen the file you’ll be using first.

Presenting in the Room Set-up any materials for display – if there is a table in the room, place it where you want it. If needed, turn off any lights. Display your materials for the best presentation. Take your time and make sure you’re ready. Ask if the judges are ready. Begin your presentation with your attention grabber Don’t forget to use the presentation clicker instead of just touching the SmartBoard, and use the laser pointer to point things out on your slides instead of your fingers that may accidentally move the screen when you don’t want it to. Note: Time is kept by 1 Judge; he/she will hold up 4 fingers once you’ve reached the 6-minute mark, 2 fingers once you completed 8 minutes, and 1 finger when you have only 1 minute remaining Fingers, when you have 4-, 2, and 1 minute(s) remaining to your 8-10 time limit.

Finishing the Presentation Tell the Judges “Thank You” and ask if they have any questions Note: This ends your 8-10 time. Close your PowerPoint, close any browser windows you have open. Take your USB Drive with you; leave everything else attached to the laptop or docking station (presentation receiver, Bluetooth dongles, etc.)

Leaving Campus Check-out with the SAB student stationed in the New Gym lobby, the 6100 Hallway courtyard entrance, and the 3200 hallway vending machines. Receive your entrance ticket to the Old Gym. Enter the Old Gym from the Senior Lounge; pick-up your Yearbook, Cap & Gown, and Graduation Yard Sign. Exit out into the Courtyard to return to the parking lot.
