Cardiovascular System The human body is composed of many different interacting systems. The cardiovascular system includes our heart, blood, and blood vessels which provide food and oxygen to all cells in the body.

Muscular system The muscular system includes over 600 different muscles in the body including skeletal muscles for movement, smooth muscles for digestion, and cardiac muscles in the heart.

Digestive System The digestive system breaks down food to make nutrients available to the body. This allows for the cells to undergo respiration.

Integumentary System The integumentary is the skin; it protects against disease, supports the sense of touch, and retains fluids.

Personal Decisions Human health is largely determined by personal decisions. Obesity, smoking, high blood pressure, and lack of exercise can all contribute to cardiovascular disease. Regular exercise keeps muscles healthy and maintains ease of mobility.

Eating fatty meats and fried and sugary foods instead of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains causes numerous health problems, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. Many skin problems, including skin cancer, can be prevented with the regular use of a high-SPF sunscreen.

Systems work together All systems work together in a healthy human being.
