Copyright © Rational Energies, LLC 2009 What We Do Convert Waste into High Performance Green Diesel We produce a biomass based renewable clean diesel with the exact characteristics of ASTM Spec D975 #1 Diesel We contract with garbage haulers who pay us a market rate tipping fee to take their garbage We sell our product to heavy vehicle fleet owners Newest Next Generation Technology – We have a proprietary production process and a business model that is economically, ecologically and socially sustainable

Copyright © Rational Energies, LLC 2009 Production Starts With Waste Processing #1 Haulers dump their garbage in our indoor facility #2 We shred the garbage into small pieces #3 We then separate out metals and other materials and lower the moisture content The processed waste is then fed onto our fuel production process

Copyright © Rational Energies, LLC 2009 Fuel Production Overview #1 Using indirect heat and pressure we reduce processed waste into Syngas and ash #2 We then clean the syngas, compress it and pass it over a catalyst converting ½ into Fischer- Tropsch diesel and wax. The remainder is used as energy to sustain the process #3 Using our excess hydrogen we upgrade FT wax and inedible fats into additional renewable clean diesel fuel

Economic Driver Relative Product Value ($/MMBTU of Product Energy) Process Conversion Efficiency (% Feedstock Energy Converted to Product) Relative Return on Resource Energy ($/MMBTU of MSW Processed)

Copyright © Rational Energies, LLC 2009 Ecological Driver 80% reduction in green house gas emissions Modest water usage and air emissions Our process can significantly reduce landfill usage and resulting release of methane New private sector initiatives are critical to expanding and sustaining the MSW processing technology needed to reduce the use of landfills

Copyright © Rational Energies, LLC 2009 Social Driver Energy Independence Stable local employment base Increased revenue flow to community Using private risk capital to achieve community benefits Green Jobs

Copyright © Rational Energies, LLC 2009 Community Benefits Green Jobs Created Immediate (engineering, design, permitting) 2009:40+ Construction (as early as 9/2010): 250 Operation (as early as mostly head of household): 90

Copyright © Rational Energies, LLC 2009 Balanced Sustainability Analysis Economic Produce a high demand product from responsible feedstock Our product requires no operating subsidy or mandates for use Create green jobs, reduce oil imports, re-circulate dollars in U.S. economy Ecological 80% reduction in green house gas emissions Significantly reduced landfill usage and methane release from landfills Modest water use and air emissions Social Improved independence from foreign oil Head of household jobs that cannot be exported Economic stimulus to local area
