Student October Count Resource Guide This PowerPoint document does not replace the need to read the Student October Count Resource Guide Please ensure you have read the Student October Count Resource Guide, particularly the areas concerning your school

Auditing Documentation All schools: Each School is responsible for providing all documentation to CSI using the FTP no later than December 5th Bell Schedules School Calendar (on file with CSI) Student Schedules for all secondary students Attendance at least 11 day attendance window (up to school to determine the additional window that will be provided) EDS/FRL forms (for at-risk; randomly selected by auditor, CSI will notify schools whose EDS forms have been selected) ELPA-WIDA W-APT tests (NEP, LEP, since these are what derive funding for ELPA)

Counting Students for Audit Enrollment-must be actively enrolled Attendance-must meet attendance criteria Scheduling-must show that full time students meet 360 hours or more per semester of teacher student contact time or greater than 90 hours for part-time per semester All secondary students (7-12) must have individual student schedules created on October 1 and as of October 1

Attendance Student must establish attendance with the school on or before the pupil enrollment count day (October 1). If they enroll and attend after October 1, then they aren’t eligible to be counted. if the student is present on October 1, then the student will be counted. If the student is not present on October 1, the following must apply: The student attended before October 1 and resumed attendance within 30 days after October 1 Auditing will look at the 11 day count window, and if they cannot establish attendance within this window they will request additional attendance documents

Scheduling Bell schedule shows daily schedule to determine number of hours per day Yearly school calendar determines number of days This determines a total number of hours per semester of teacher student contact hours At least 360 hours is full time funding (kinders only eligible for part-time and DOB constraints) At least 90 hours is part time funding

Additional Info Concurrent Enrollment Review through Manual In 14-15, full time is 6 college credits and 3 credits for part time In 15-16, full time is 12 college credits and 3 credits for part time
