Adapted Physical Education in the Public Schools

Adapted Physical Education “… is an individualized program involving physical and motor fitness, FMS and patterns, skills in aquatics and dance, and individual and group games and sports designed to meet the unique needs of individuals.” (Winnick, 2005, p.4)

Who Oversees Adapted Physical Education Programs?

Goals of Adapted Physical Education The goals should be consistent with those established by the state education agency for every learner who participates in physical education and integrate state standards and curricular objectives.
