DESCRIPTION OF LESSON Topic: Wii Fitness/Cardiovascular endurance & Muscular Strength Technology used: Nintendo Wii Fitness, Nintendo Wii Balance Board, Nintendo Wiimotes, Flip Cams, projector screen, Spark People, Brainpop Number of Students: 5 Activities Included: Week by week lessons/activities linked... Assessments Pre/Post Test

TECHNOLOGY USED Nintendo Wii Fitness, Nintendo Wii Balance Board, Nintendo Wiimotes, Flip Cams, , projector screen, Spark People, PC Capabilities? Limitations? Potential benefit to personal needs, workplace needs, or lifelong learning?

SUPPORTING DIVERSE LEARNERS How do you support diverse learners in your class? Multiple Learning Strategies including Visual-Spatial, Bodily/Kinesthetic, Direct Instruction Do you use any adaptive or assistive technologies? N/A…no students fall in this category.

MANAGING TECHNOLOGY How will you manage the use of technology in your room Students will be organized in a personal space in the gym, Wii balance board will be shared among students, Wiimotes will distributed among students and shared throughout lesson. Projector screen attached to Wii and projected on gym curtains on stage.

WAS YOUR LESSON EFFECTIVE? Analyze the results of your lesson. Test Breakdown Did the use of technology increase motivation or participation? Technology use increased motivation tremendously due to the use of the Nintendo Wii System. What did students know before the lesson and after? Students were familiar with Nintendo Wii, however, they didn’t know all of the terminology with the components of fitness. Evaluate the effectiveness of the lesson. What could you do differently to increase the effectiveness of the lesson? In the future, I would like to have had more time per day to integrate more standards into my lessons. The only time available per day was approximately minutes once a week.

LEGAL & ETHICAL COMPUTER USE How does your lesson abide by copyright laws? -All work was documented, and resources are labeled in lesson plan. How are you sure that your students are following ethical and legal guidelines when using technology? -Student technology work is monitored by Mr. Kenney(myself). COOPERATIVE LEARNING Does your lesson include any cooperative group processes? -Students worked cooperatively during Wii Fitness, and were instructed to involve each other while using Wii Remotes and Balance Board.

TECHNOLOGY AS A PRODUCTIVITY TOOL What technology do you use as a productivity tool? Infinite campus is used to post grades/track daily progress and attendance is used to communicate to parents regarding newsletters/permission slips pertaining to advanced PE program Physical Education WordPress website is used to post important information such as activities performed each day Mr. Kenney's PE BlogMr. Kenney's PE Blog

TEACHING WITH TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS How does teaching to the technology standards benefit today’s students? Technology standards keep students up to date on modern advances of technology tools. Employers are using more and more technology to become more productive and efficient. How does your lesson comply with current research in educational technology? Lesson is implemented using various resources of technology including, , Wii Fitness, Balance Board, etc. All of the resources used are proven methods of use both in and out of the classroom.
