What is ADHD? Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a developmental disorder usually diagnosed in childhood or adolescence. Children with ADHD generally have problems paying attention or concentrating while adults with ADHD have difficulty with time management, organizational skills, goal setting, and employment.

Who get’s ADHD and how common is it? The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that 3% to 5% of children have ADHD. Some experts say ADHD may occur in 8% to 10% of school-aged children.

Describe some symtoms of ADHD? The main symptoms of ADHD are, Inattentivity, Hyperactivity and impulsivity. These symptoms all turn up during the early stages of ADHD.

What type of treatment is available for people Experience ADHD There Is no cure for ADHD but There are some alternatives to help with the symptoms. The most comen drugs perscribed are, Ritalin, Dexedrine, Concereta, Metadate, Focalin and adderall.

What other forms of help is there for people with ADHD There is one other way to helping the symptoms of ADHD. Psychosocial Treatment. This performed by a therapist. He teaches the kid to have a different way of expressing them selves in a calmer more assertive way.

Myths Only boys can have ADHD Most children with ADHD grow out of it. This is false. Girls are just as likely as boys to get ADHD. Most children with ADHD grow out of it. (Also false more then 50% or children with ADHD continue to have symptoms as adults. ADHD is caused by eating to much sugar. (False ADHD has nothing to do with how much sugars are taken in.
