Climate On Earth

What are the Climatic Regions of the Earth? Do you know? The Climatic Regions

On the basis of the climatic zones there are four major regions in the world- The Four Major Climatic Regions The Desert Region The Tundra Region The Temperate Grassland Region The Tropical and Equatorial Region

Come let’s now see where these regions are located and what they consist of. Let’s start with THE EQUATORIAL REGION. Where is this region located?

The Equatorial Region of the world is located 0 º to10 º north and south of the Equator, that is, in the Tropical or the Torrid Zone.

It has a hot and wet climate throughout the year. The high temperature and heavy rainfall throughout the year produced abundant growth of trees specially in two parts of the world – in North of South America and the Central parts of Africa. In South America, the Amazon rainforest is known as the SELVAS In Africa the rain forest is known as the CONGO RAIN FOREST

Did you know these forests have got a specialty that no other forests in the world have?

Only these forests in the world have four distinct layers.

There are different types of animals seen in these forests, namely different varieties of monkeys …..

The Squirrel monkeys

The squirrel monkey
