About De Anza Cupertino (Bay Area) ~24,000 students High rate of transfer Large developmental and ESL populations
De Anza ~1500 students served/quarter in 2 locations Variety of subjects (English/ESL, Math, Sciences, Accounting, Econ, languages…) Writing and Reading Center separate, but peer tutors trained in class co-taught with English ~250 peer tutors/quarter ~40-90 new tutors/quarter (more in Fall)
Tutor De Anza Required for all new tutors. 3 strands 1. General subject individual tutors 2. Group tutors (adjunct skills & math/science) 3. Writing tutors Web used for all three Plus: paid staff meetings for all tutors
