JOSHUA INTRODUCTION I.INTRODUCTION A.Back from vacation! 1.The Lord has shown me some AWESOME things.

2.Thanks to Pastor Rod and Pastor Danny! a) The flock is well cared for. B.Tonight the book of Joshua! 1.I am excited about our study.

2. Great platform for things the Lord has been showing me. a) “I will be glad when the Lord comes back?” (1) You are not alone. (2) It is exhausting! (a) Ephesians 6:12 (3) “Christians” dealing in a peculiar way.

(a) Many choosing path of compromise! (b) An increase in “sin” in the church. (i) In our church people struggling with sin. (ii) Folks “settling” for less! (iii) The enemy never lets up.

(iv) Book of Joshua can in that struggle. (a) Joshua is about struggles. (b) About living for the Lord! (i) James 4:4 (ii) John 15:19 (iii) “Where’s the love?”

II.“What is the Goal of Christian living?” A.Some characteristics of life in Christ? 1.Christians will end up in heaven. 2.The Promised Land is NOT heaven!

a) It is full of enemies! (1) Full of PERISITES! (a) They will not give it up easily! 3.Many content with running around in the Wilderness! a) Let me read : (1) 1Peter 2:9-12

(2) “What is the goal of Christian living?” (a) Time to face the enemy! (1) There will be great victory! III.JOSHUA 1:1-6

A. “Do you stand victorious in the power of Jesus?” 1.I would like to point out : a) Joshua lived forty years in the bondage. b) Spent 40 years in the wilderness!

(1) The Lord not in any hurry training His leaders! (2) Not faithful in the smaller things – NOT be in greater things. c) Joshua there to see the plagues. d) Egyptians swallowed by the Red Sea.

e) Chosen to accompany Moses. f) Chosen to spy out Canaan! g) “Joshua” = “The Lord Saves”. (1) Greeks translated it as JESUS! (a) Conquerors under his leadership

(b) Jesus is God’s representative! B.Much to lean in the book of Joshua. 1.Joshua can teach us HOW to be victorious! IV.CONCLUSION
