Electives  Students need to study 3 elective subjects.  They need to study these for 2 years – ie Years 9 and 10.

Why choose a subject?  You like it  You have an interest in it  You are good at it

Reasons not to choose a subject.  Your friends are doing it, or want you to do it.  Your parents want you to do it.  You have heard that a certain teacher will be teaching it.  You think that you will need it for a future career or it will help you in Years 11 and 12.  There a re no prerequisites for Years 11 and 12.  Eg a student can study Year 11 Visual Arts even if they haven’t studied it in Years 9 and 10.

FEES  Please be aware that some electives have a fee to cover the cost of materials which the school purchases on your child’s behalf. The practical projects belong to the students once they have been marked. The fees for these subjects are in the subject selection booklet.

Who can help you decide?  Your teachers  Your parents  Older students  What next?  Complete the subject selection online by 11pm Monday 9 th August

Edval Webchoice  Each student will be issued an individual login.  All students need to go to their in the student portal.

Edval Webchoice Once submitted, students will need to print their form, get it signed by a parent and return it to Ms Houda.

How is the decision made to run a subject.  Edval will match the best fit of subjects across 3 lines with the least number of people missing out.  Some students will miss out.  In this instance, the reserve subject will be placed into the student’s choices by Edval.
