The Risen Lord Comes to Live with His People St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Saturday, May 4 th

Welcome to St. Peter! Confirmation Day is not just for our youth. It is a remembrance of the vows made in past years to be faithful to the risen Lord in the use of the Means of Grace. May this service bring to mind your vows and give you renewed zeal to live them everyday as we pray that the class of 2013 does as well.

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row. Please take a moment to give us your information so that we have a record of your time with us today. Thank you!

For Our Guests If you have questions, let us try to help. Speak with an usher, greeter, or the person next to you. If you’d like to learn more about St. Peter and its ministry, please talk to a pastor or member after the service.

Prayer before Worship Dear God, we offer our praise and worship to you for your faithfulness to us sinners in carrying our guilt to the cross, dying and rising triumphantly. Now bless us with renewed hearts to live our lives in faithfulness to your Word. Send your Spirit to our confirmands to enable them to carry out what they promise before you today. In your name, we pray. Amen.

Let Me Be Yours Forever CW #596 Verses 1-3 Text: Nikolaus Selnecker, (st. 1) Gesangbuch, Rudolstadt, 1688 (st. 2-3) Setting: ICH DANK DIR, LIEBER HERRE Tune: Musika Deutsch, Nürnberg, 1532, alt.

Verse 1: Let me be yours forever, My faithful God and Lord; Let me forsake you never Nor wander from your Word. Lord, do not let me waver But give me steadfastness, And for such grace and favor Your holy name I'll bless.

Verse 2: Lord Jesus, my salvation, My light, my life divine, My only consolation, To you I all resign, For you have dearly bought me With blood and bitter pain. Let me, since you have sought me, Eternal life obtain.

Verse 3 (Please Rise): O gracious Holy Spirit, My comforter and guide, Grant that in Jesus' merit I always may confide, Him to the end confessing Whom I have known by faith. Give me your constant blessing And grant a Christian death.

Opening Verses Pastor: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. All: And also with you.

Confession of Sin Pastor: We have come into the presence of God, who created us to love and to serve him as his dear children. But we have disobeyed him and deserve only his wrath and punishment. Therefore, let us confess our sins to him and plead for his mercy.

Confession of Sin All: Merciful Father in heaven, I am altogether sinful from birth. In countless ways I have sinned against you and do not deserve to be called your child.

Confession of Sin All: But trusting in Jesus, my Savior, I pray: Have mercy on me according to your unfailing love. Cleanse me from my sin, and take away my guilt.

(Pastor announces our forgiveness) All: Amen.

Pastor: In the peace of forgiveness, let us praise the Lord.

Verse 4: No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the pow’r of Christ in me; From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.

Verse 4: No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from his hand; Till he returns or calls me home, Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.
