Successes/Best Practices April, th Anniversary Banquet Letters to Employers about active IEEE members. members 2 weeks before a meeting and a reminder the day before. Post card to members without . Write up meeting minutes within 2 days of a meeting. Executive Committee Meetings. Our Section was awarded the Sustaining Membership Growth Award from IEEE any EE meeting notices

Section Strengths Eight members on Executive Committee committed to Section activities and paperwork. Past Chairman very active and an excellent resource Chairman did an excellent job of keeping up the IEEE internet site for the Missouri Slope Section.

Challenges Getting members to hold an office. Newsletter. Transfer of names of bank accounts. No long range planning (5 year plan).

Lessons Learned Luncheon meeting more successful. Officers need to follow up on meetings and communicating with each other.

Goals for Next Year Goal 1: Get By Laws Updated. Goal 2: Have 4 individuals hold officers position. Goal 3: Increase Senior Membership by 5 individuals (5%). Goal 4: Purchase Ref. materials for PE. Goal 5: Publish a Newsletter ( ). Goal 6: Increase 2 members from associate members to full members. Joint meeting with Red River Section. One Distinguished Speaker Program.

Region 4 Could Most Help My Section By… Assist with Bylaws Changes and also create a flow diagram to show the steps to change them with timeline. Define what meeting requirements are for annual reports. (Section and Chapter) Create a summary sheet on how to complete annual electronic paperwork. Would like to know what IEEE Reference Materials are available and cost for PE. Effective way to recruit members to hold office.

Summary Missouri Slope Section is celebrating its 25 th Anniversary In 2002, North Dakota students posted the highest SAT scores. Our universities graduate the intellectual capital of the new economy ND has the cleanest air in the nation. ND is the safest state in the nation. ND experiences turnover under 4% at manufacturing facilities and less than 15 % in business service operations. Our absenteeism is less than 2%. ND has the only state-owned bank to access capital quickly. ND has nearly 200 communities and 500 physical locations that are connected by over 38,000 miles of fiber optic cable. Cost of doing business in ND is about 7% below the national average. ND has 8 power generation plants providing affordable, reliable energy. IEEE is alive and well in western North Dakota.
