Question 6. How many English books do you read per week?

Question 7. How much time do you spend on reading English books per day?

5 out of 10 students (50%) spend half an hour reading English books per day. 2 out of 10 students (20%) spend 1 hour reading English books. The rest of the students do not read at all. To encourage students to spend more time reading English books, the English teachers can organize a reading competition. Students who spend most time reading English books win the competition.

Question 8. How many pages do you read per ½ hour?

4 out of 10 students (40%) read pages per half hour. 1 out of 10 students (10%) reads 0-10 pages and the rest of the students read pages per half hour. No one can read more than 20 pages. The speed is fine. Keep it up. English teachers can still encourage the students to read more English books so that they can read even faster.

To conclude, students can: 1) read more English books 2) do home reading continuously Teachers can: 1) organize a class competition and award students who read the most per day. 2) allow students to borrow English ERS books at recess time and lunchtime 3) encourage students to read more English books 4) let students share their stories through audiotape or CDs The school can: 1) buy more interesting English books and introduce them to the students through teachers or EAOC members 2) provide students with a quiet time to read English books regularly 3) give students a quiet and comfortable place to enjoy reading 4) organize the story sharing corner more often

Mandy: I think doing this survey is challenging work. Before we did this survey, we were all very shy and did not dare to speak English in front of the classmates and our friends. However, after finishing this survey, we are all proud of ourselves. Now, we don’t feel nervous anymore when we’re speaking English in front of other people. I hope I can do more surveys to practise my oral skill. Mandy: I think doing this survey is challenging work. I found interviewing my schoolmates a bit difficult at first. I had to explain the interview questions to them again and again. While I was asking the questions, I felt nervous. I was afraid that I asked a wrong question, but anyway, it was really a good experience. Aman: After doing this project, I ‘ve learnt a lot of things. I ‘ve learnt how to manage my time. Sam: When I first interview the Form3 students, I panicked, because I never interviewed strangers before. I was nervous and I hoped that I did not make pronunciation mistakes because it would be very embarrassing. It was challenging to do this project, and it was a good practice. Anyway, we have already tried our best. Sam: When I first interview the Form3 students, I panicked, because I never interviewed strangers before.
