Heart of Borneo

Agricultural Trade in Vietnam Vietnam’s recent economic growth has been supported largely through trade, Much of this trade is in the Agricultural sector

Agricultural Trade in Vietnam and the Greater Mekong Subregion The delicate ecosystems of the Greater Mekong Region including Vietnam hold resources of especially high national and global value These resources are under increasing threat from Habitat loss and unsustainable practices and some of this is as a result of the drive for more Agricultural Trade

Threats or Drivers of Biodiversity Loss In the Greater Mekong Sub-region Voracious trade in wildlife Unsustainable natural resource management Poorly-planned infrastructure development Agriculture

WWF Recent Policy Projects in Vietnam “Trade, Environment and Poverty” “From Trade Negotiations to Global Adjustment” New Project on “The sustainable production of cocoa in Vietnam”

Links to WWF’s Macroeconomics For Sustainable Development Programme Office in US “Trade Environment and Poverty project” “From Trade Negotiations to Global Adjustment” Project, (a collaborative effort between the IPC and the WWF's Macroeconomics for Sustainable Development Program Office (MPO) in partnership with the Dutch Directorate General for Development Cooperation (DGIS), the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) and the World Bank.

This seminar “Sustainable production of cocoa in Vietnam” As part of this Seminar we hope to benefit this project by bringing together the environmental and social considerations of Vietnamese stakeholders in cocoa and experts on international agricultural trade.
