ICSER Leontief Centre ABOUT US The International Centre for Social and Economic Research - Leontief Centre was established in 1991 on the initiative of the Mayor of St. Petersburg Anatoliy Sobchak and Wassily Leontief, a St Petersburg-born economist and Nobel Prize winner. During 20 year of our work: The Leontief Centre has completed over 500 projects, including 400 research and consulting projects, held 150 conferences and workshops, carried out 60 publishing projects, and authored 1200 publications in periodicals, monographs and journals. The partnership network of the Leontief Centre encompasses 47 countries, 290 cities of the Russian Federation, 80 international and more than 300 Russian organizations. Leontief Centre employees have passed 40 internships in Russia and abroad. Every year, more than 15 students intern with the Leontief Centre. The Leontief Centre has launched and supports 21 Websites visited by more than 1000 daily. This year alone, users from more than 70 countries have visited our Websites. The Leontief Centres Information Department has 2500 books, 1500 of them in Russian, and 1000 in foreign languages; we subscribe to 50 titles of newspapers and magazines annually.

ICSER Leontief Centre LEONTIEF CENTRE RESEARCH AND CONSULTING GROUP The Leontief Centre is an independent research and consulting group, with a staff of 50, which include: Closed Joint Stock Company ICSER Leontief Centre established in 1991 to implement the expert support for market reforms in Russia. The Autonomous Noncommercial Organization ICSER Leontief Centre established in 1998 for the development of fundamental and applied researches in field of social sciences and the development of cooperation with recognized scientific schools in Russia and abroad. Resource Centre on Strategic Planning for Russian Cities established in 2002 to promote the growth of professionalism in the management of social processes in Russian cities and regions by promoting best international standards as a strategic planning and management, the development of networking and partnership. In 2009, for science projects financing Leontief Centre Endowment was founded.

ICSER Leontief Centre Leontief Centre is one of the leading Russian think tank providing strategic insight and expert support for the market reforms in St. Petersburg and the rest of Russia. The main activities of the Leontief Centre include: organizing and conducting research in the area of regional economies and public finances; providing consulting and methodological support to the federal, regional and municipal public authorities in the development of strategic plans, socio-economic projects and programs; collaboration in projects and programs of international research by financial and other organizations; organizing scientific thematic conferences, practical seminars and exhibitions; organizing of trainings, workshops and learning programmes; publishing; information technology and telecommunications LEONTIEF CENTRE MAIN ACTIVITIES

ICSER Leontief Centre The Leontief Centre conducts large-scale projects on commission by the Government of the Russian Federation, St Petersburg City Administration, other regional and local authorities of the Russian Federation, as well as international governmental organizations and NGOs. It has implemented a number of projects with the European Union, the World Bank, and international donors. ICSER Leontief Centre In September 2011 the Leontief Centre Interfaculty Department in National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (St Petersburg Branch )was opened. The purpose of the Leontief Centre Interfaculty base department is to improve the educational process by strengthening teaching and research links between Higher school of Economics and Leontief Centre in developing:  Master degree programs STATE AND MUNICIPAL MANAGEMENT and ECONOMICS of St Petersburg branch of Higher School of Economics  Program Faculty of Public Administration of the Higher school of Economics (Moscow) INTERFACULTY BASE DEPARTMENT

ICSER Leontief Centre The Leontief Centre actively spreads information on research results, carried out by scientific team of Leontief Centre during academic and research conferences, seminars and round tables, organized by the Centre. Apart from this, the Leontief Centre remains a platform for professional discussion and experience exchange between the partner companies with wide range participants around the world. ANNUAL CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS Annual Conference Leontief Readings Annual international scientific conference, devoted to actual economic and social issues. There is an annual tradition in February of every year to organize the conference which joints together lead world and Russian scientists, politicians, experts, specialists, journalists dealing with actual problems of Russian development, with the purpose of discussion and presentation of their own vision on actual political, social and economic problems of Russia reforming All-Russia Forum of Strategic Territorial Planning Leaders Annual since 2002 Leontief Centre organized the All-Russian Forum Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia. Forum Mission: Enhancing balanced and sustainable development of the regions and cities of Russia by means of improving the system of territorial strategic planning, supporting coordination and public dialog on long-term development priorities, creating and promoting the up-to-date standards of planning Interdisciplinary seminar Economy and Society Since 2002 on the base of Leontief Centre the Interdisciplinary seminars hosted jointly by Leontief Center and Sociological Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences are being held with participation of leading sociologists and economists of Saint Petersburg.
