ABOUT STEPHENIE MEYER S tephenie Meyer is a teen fiction writer who is well known for writing “The Twilight Saga.” The idea of “Twilight” came to her in a dream one night and because of how realistic and wonderful it felt, she wrote the dream down. This then became Chapter 13 of “Twilight” when it came to turning it into a novel. Stephenie wanted to go into law. She had no intention of being a writer and wrote the novel for fun until her sister read it and decided she should try to get it published. Since finishing “The Twilight Saga”, Meyer has written “The Host” aimed at young adults.

WEBSITE RESEARCH This is what the home page of the official Stephenie Meyer website looks like. There is an image swap on the right hand side of every page and down the left hand side are the links to each page. The pages included on the website are home, news, about the author, books, films and contact info. Each page includes the correct information and a picture as well. Also, Stephenie Meyer’s website is mostly about Twilight, it also has a bit of information on The Host (her latest book).

WEBSITE RESEARCH This is the official Twilight Saga website. It is the colour scheme that I will probably go with for my own website. There is a header that includes the title of the website and a picture. There is also a nav bar, a section, a sidebar and an aside. It also includes information about Meyer’s other book and what cities she will be book signing in.

WEBSITE RESEARCH This is the official site for The Host. It includes information like the cast, the new film and the actual book. It also holds information about Stephenie Meyer.

TARGET AUDIENCE The target audience for my fanzine website would probably mainly be aimed at young girls (aged 12 and upwards) as Stephenie Meyer writes her books targeted at that age. The Twilight films are rated 12A and mostly liked by teenage fans whilst The Host is aimed at a more older age range.

NAVIGATION METHODS The types of navigation methods are hyperlinks, pictures, videos and search bars. Hyperlinks: A hyperlink is a word or picture that when you click on it, takes you to a certain page on the website or another site altogether. Pictures: Sometimes, a picture is made to be a hyperlink so when you click on the picture it takes you to a website. Videos: Videos can be embedded into websites to be played through YouTube. They can also have a hyperlink so when the video gets clicked on, it actually opens up in a tab in Safari or Firefox. Search Bars: Search bars are designed for searching in certain words that may be linked to the website. By searching in these words, they could take you straight to the site that you want.

VISUAL STYLE The Twilight colours are a mixture of dark colours like red, black and brown. My website will be a colour scheme of black and red to fit in with the subject. These colours go well together and I may even add a gradient to it to make the colours blend and look a bit more interesting. Also, I will have to try and not make the colours too dark so people are able to read the text and see the pictures. The shape below is an example.

ROUGH Header Section Nav This is a rough idea of what my fanzine website will look like. The colours will be a light shade of black and red and there will be a nav bar for the tabs, a header for the title and then a section which will include the main information. The tabs in the nav bar will take people to the different pages of the website
