G UN C ONTROL Legislation on gun control should be improved on in America.

L AWS ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH Why can people get guns? The current policy on owning a weapon allows anyone to purchase a fire arm with a valid I.D. and a background check Weapons are supposed to be registered with the state that identifies a specific serial number These numbers are often times filed off.

D EVASTATION IN THE N ATION In recent years, several devastating scenes have played out in the country Whether in schools or shopping malls, people who have no business with guns use them to murder innocent victims.

S ALES OF G UNS Not all gun sales are conducted through proper channels Because of technology, guns are cheaper to make and therefore cheaper to buy

N OT E VERYONE IS F IT TO O WN A G UN Some want a gun for a hobby or for protection Some have mental illnesses and want a gun so that they can hurt or kill another person Millard South incident

C HILDREN ARE A FFECTED A person may own a gun for household protection, but the gun is “22 times more likely to shoot a member of their family than an intruder” Children find a gun and do not understand the reality Can “play” and accidentally kill someone

G UNS ARE TOO E ASY TO G ET Even in places where the sale of fire arms is illegal, guns are easy to get. Sams “says it wouldn’t be much trouble to get” guns even though there’s a ban on fire arms in Washington D.C.

“R IGHT TO B EAR A RMS ” Rights activists from the National Rifle Association would argue that the right to own guns falls under the second amendment of the U. S. Constitution: The Right to Bear Arms. The authors didn’t know about the technological advances we have had

S UMMARY The bottom line is that too many innocent people are being killed each year by guns for unnecessary reasons. First, the current requirements allow anyone with a mental health issue to purchase a gun, Children want to own guns so that they can mimic the grown ups that they see on television. And at the moment, there are countless numbers of unregistered weapons on the streets being sold easily every day
