Ian Pemberton Award in International Relations In memory of a professor of International Relations history who was much loved by students. Two prizes per year awarded to the History majors with the highest grade in History 123/124 respectively.
David P. Botsford Memorial Scholarship Awarded to a student registered in 3 rd or 4 th Year Honours History who has a superior academic record and has demonstrated an interest in local area studies. The awardee, named the Botsford Scholar for the academic year in question, is expected to prepare an original research paper under the direction of the Department of History, and to present this paper publicly at the request of the David P. Botsford Memorial Committee to the Essex County Historical Society. The Botsford Scholar's name is inscribed for eternity on a plague at Fort Malden. Established in 1979 in memory of David P. Botsford, C.M. in recognition of his lifelong service to area historical studies. The award also comes with a monetary prize of $900 (application to History Dept. required).
World History Award For the History major with the highest grade in History 114 – Europe Encounters the World: The Age of Discovery, 15th- 18th Century in Winter 2014
John Yanchula Memorial Scholarship Awarded to an outstanding student registered in 3 rd Year Honours History
Outstanding First Year History Student Awarded each March to a History major who, to that point in the academic year, has demonstrated outstanding qualities in both History 110/111
Dr. Margaret S. Mattson Memorial Scholarship Awarded to an outstanding student registered in a 4 th Year Canadian History course (no application required)
Milorad Vuckovic Memorial Scholarship Awarded to a deserving and outstanding student in the field of History in Year 2 or beyond (application to Awards Office required)
4 th Year History Essay Prize Awarded to the author of an outstanding essay com.pleted in any 4 th Year History course
