Road and Traffic Safety I WANT TO COME HOME SAFELY (I LOVE MY FAMILY)

DEEP Vision To create a new generation of road users who are orderly and courteous in using the transportation facilities in an orderly and courteous manner.

DEEP Goal Through education and programs to improve the quality of life of ALL.

DEEP Objectives To develop a pro-active and comprehensive educational programs that shares knowledge with the road users in using transportation facilities safely. To develop effective road and traffic safety programs using media such as videos, stories, dramas and brochures. To develop road and traffic safety subjects for class rooms for grades 1st to 12th . To encourage and implement road safety week in all schools and also a National Road Safety Week.

DEEP Objectives….Continued To provide professionals (both private and public) information on the road and traffic safety elements in the areas of Engineering, Education and Enforcement. To obtain support in terms of Administrative, Knowledge, Experiences and Finances with similar organizations that deal with road and traffic safety. To develop new leaders to continue this program in the same spirit as Vivekananda stated “Arise, Awake, Stop not Until Your Goal is Achieved.”

Should a vehicle stop fully at a “stop sign” or at a “red light?” Is using mobile phone while driving Okay? Have you seen or done any of the above? What is your opinion on the above subject?

What is the right thing to do? Listen to our parents, teachers & elders Being careful while on road and watch traffic Learning to be patient and understanding things - WHY? Making the right CHOICES.

Lessons Learnt Please learn the traffic signs and obey traffic signs at all times. You do not want to be injured or loose your life because of accidents you can prevent while using the roads. You learn and teach your friends and family the right way to use the roads

Road and Traffic Safety Week Participate in Road & Traffic Safety Week in your community and school. Talk to your local representatives put proper signs on roads and proper gates near railway tracks, including fences. Mark all cross walks and road humps properly for both day and night vision. Teach your family, friends and others how to be safe in using road and help in saving lives
