 PSEO is an opportunity to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wider variety of options to high school students. 9 th – 12 th grade students earn college credit AND/OR high school graduation credit simultaneously through the successful completion of college-level courses. WHAT IS PSEO?

 OPTIONS A  Receive College credit ONLY  All costs paid by the Student/Parent B  Receive College AND High School credit  Cost for Tuition, fees, & textbooks paid by Tipp City & State Board of Education.

Students must carry a minimum of 3 credits per semester. (Seniors 2.5 credits per semester) A maximum total number of total credits cannot exceed 7 credits per year. (= # of periods at THS) PSEO courses are NOT eligible for weighted grades or Honors Diploma.

  Courses that are not completed, withdrawn after the due date, or failed MUST BE REPAID by the student/parent  ALL CHANGES MUST BE APPROVED BY YOUR HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR PRIOR TO MAKING THE CHANGE. Important note:

 Items NOT covered by the PSEO Program Personal materials such as: optional books, computer software, calculators, tools, etc. transportation and parking expenses Accuplacer Test (2 nd attempt)

 Entry Requirements Wright State University  ACT 26 (composite) English-23, Math-27  SAT 1190  HS GPA 3.25 (Sr.) 3.5 (Jr.) 3.75 (So.)  Pass COMPASS Edison Community College  ACT 25 (composite) English-18, Math-22  SAT 1140  HS GPA 2.5  Pass COMPASS (Reading, Writing, Math)

 Entry Requirements Sinclair Community College  ACT Math-22, Reading-21, Writing 18  SAT 1190  HS GPA 3.0 (in subject)  Pass Accuplacer Assessment (Reading, Writing, Math)  May attend any of the Sinclair Campus locations Reminders:  The GPA used in the application process will be SEM. 1 GPA for the year when applying. You must check the minimum GPA required by the college itself.  In addition, the State of Ohio House Bill 282 requires a B (3.0) average in any high school course in the same subject area as the college course.

 College Expectations Remember: You ARE considered an adult, college student and are expected to behave like one at all times. You must also: Attend a PSEO Mandatory Orientation, Log on to your new College account, Register for courses, Acquire a student ID card, Verify PSEO funding, Purchase books, & Attend class regularly and on time.

 The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. * Access by parents is limited by law. Professors cannot discuss grades, assignments, attendance with anyone other than the student. *Contact your High School Counselor if you have concerns.

Students are subject to the same requirements as all other THS athletes. Athletes must be passing the equivalent of 5 (1/2 credit) classes per semester. ** Be sure to discuss with coaches your participation in PSEO, as practice time and travel time may conflict.

  Sign & return INTENT TO PARTICIPATE (by March 30)  Obtain PSEO application from Guidance  Counselor will check GPA for eligibility  If eligible, you will be sent requested college application  Complete the application IN INK & w/parent signature  Return completed application to HS Counselor  Counselor will return to you for mailing.  Once you are accepted, you will schedule college classes. REMEMBER: you must call to schedule entrance exam (ie. COMPASS or Accuplacer) Summary of Steps
