Key Club International The Bell High School Service Club Make new friends, have fun, and make a difference!

What is Key Club? What is Key Club? KEY Club: The KEY stands for Kiwanis Educated Youth What we do: KEY club is part of an international organization called Kiwanis  We help charities around the world and in our community.  We organize fun and interesting activities for the students of Bell High School.  We give out scholarships and bursaries to those seeking Post-Secondary Education and to those wanting to become executive members of KEY Club before graduation.  With us, you can easily earn more than easily get your 40 Hours Community Service, which are required for Graduation. Bell High School’s KEY Club has donated new and improved books to a school Tharu, Nepal.

What Bell High School’s KEY Club has done: Bell High School’s KEY Club helps out in the community, inside the school, and helps donate money to charities which help other communities. We donated money to charities like the Easter Seal Foundation, Silver Springs Farm, Fairbairn House, Bruce House and others to help those in need. Bell High School KEY Club member donating a cheque of $300 to the Fairbairn House.

Bell High School has also donated money to the same school, for a new atlas. The donated money has also helped to re-paint this same school in Nepal (between India and China).

What we planned in SCHOOL EVENTS: Hallow’een Teacher Auction: a fun event where you get to bid money for a teacher, and you get to dress them up for Hallow’een. Listen for announcements soon! Silver Springs: We had a great time playing games with developmentally delayed adults at Silver Springs Farm (near Bells Corners). All they wanted was someone to play Snakes & Ladders and Checkers with them. Popcorn sales: Raising the school profile and raising money for more school events by selling popcorn. Vinyl Cafetorium: The school’s Vocal Jazz had an evening performance. Coffee was donated by Starbucks and the KEY Club sold refreshments and desserts.

Lobster Fest: A huge festival/fundraiser, which is usually organized by Kiwanis, in May. There was a lobster dinner, Silent Auction, door prizes and early bird prizes. Everyone who went, had a really great time! Duck Race: Money is raised by buying tickets for the Duck Races that happen every year in June. Afterwards, the race is held at the Ottawa River with millions of rubber ducks competing against each other. BBQ Event: Last year a BBQ event was held at Dovercourt. It was in partnership with games, an artwork display. Bell High School’s KEY Club has done is help sell hamburgers and sausages. OUT OF SCHOOL EVENTS: What are you waiting for? Get involved today!

We hope you liked our presentation and we hope you like what KEY has to offer and that you will enjoy our club and have fun with us. The money we collect goes to different charities, some of it goes to school events, and the rest stays for future events. KEY Club is open to everyone. Remember that making a difference starts with your help: Take part in your community, learn valuable leadership and organization skills, get involved, help others, but most of all, have fun, make new friends, and get your volunteer hours. WednesdayLunch Room 127. Meetings are held every Wednesday at Lunch in Room 127.

Come to our next meeting, Lunch in Room 127 Make new friends, have fun, and make a difference!
