Chapters 20, 21, 22 Tom Robinson is another killed mockingbird. Even though the reader knows what the jury’s decision will be, the way it delivers the news is surprising After the trial, Atticus is thanked by the black community and scorned by whites. Bob Ewell poses a new threat.

Emmett Till Real life case where two white men are brought to trial for murdering 14-year- old Emmett Till. They are declared innocent.

Chapters 23, 24 Atticus is dangerously wrong for the first time in the novel, underestimating the threats of Bob Ewell.
