Presentation transcript:

 * Positive Contributions  Participation in class discussions  Celebrate each other’s successes  Taking care of our classroom equipment, supplies, and materials  * Relationship Building  Be willing to work with different individuals and groups to share our differences  Be willing to help one another to promote team effort  * Safe and Caring Environment  Build each other up with positive, encouraging comments...no put downs  * Quality Education for all Students  Well behaved students allow for a classroom where everyone can learn without distractions or disruptions so everyone has an opportunity to be successful

 Talking: Please don’t speak over me, around me, or through me. This drives me crazy! Listen to instruction so I don’t repeat things a thousand times.  Organization: This is a GISD classroom. The equipment, tables, chairs, etc. all belong to GISD. If you break it, your parents buy it!  BE PREPARED: Bring your supplies to class. Your classmates are not always going to provide YOU with supplies.

 Be punctual/on time ◦ I will open my door to allow everyone in the room, but once the door closes it will LOCK! Meaning if you have to knock, your late!

 Be Respectful to others and classroom equipment! ◦ If I deem you were disrespectful to another student including calling them names, fighting, etc. I will send you to the office. ◦ Respect also includes the classroom equipment. DO NOT write on the desks/tables or cause damage to any equipment. That will automatically get you sent to the office!

RESPECT! I am a huge proponent of RESPECT! I will expect to be treated with respect by you and in return I will treat you with respect. Good rule for you to remember, it’s best to respond with a “yes sir” or “no sir.” The following are ways to disrespect me: Call me “Dude, Bro, Man.” Raising your voice at me. Lie to me! I will catch you!

 THIS WON’T BE AN ISSUE, BUT IF IT IS HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT…  Issue you a warning (Get back on task, the stare, friendly reminders)  Remove you from class (sit outside in the hall)  THE BOOK and contact parents  After you have signed the book if we still have issues, you will go to the office.  When you go to the office, its out of my hands.

 Please when you first enter the classroom look at the board for class schedule and lessons for the day.  I will have the daily lesson and activities posted each day.  Also, when you complete an assignment please turn it in to the class tray marked with your class period.  Often times if I can’t find your assignment it is due to you turning it in to the wrong class period tray.

 When you enter my room, you need to check the side table for a warm up activity. There may not be one there every day but most of the time there will be.  Come prepared. I am not a Wal-Mart. I will not supply you with materials such as pencils and erasers.  Once you have checked for a warm-up, you need to sit down and work quietly until the lesson starts.

 Homework: ◦ I rarely give homework, however, I will expect any homework that is assigned to be turned in on time.  Any assignment not finished during class time will become homework.  If class starts on time there will be very few instances where we can’t finish our work.

 If you failed an assignment, quiz, or test there will be chances to increase your grade.  Regular credit vs. Extra Credit (taking zeros often and asking for extra credit  EXTRA CREDIT. ◦ Extra credit assignments can replace an assignment grade completely. ◦ Extra credit turned in for a quiz or test will add points to your grade up to a 70.

 First and foremost do your best not to be late with any assignments!  If you are late here is my policy… ◦ 1 day late= 10 points off (Highest grade= 90) ◦ 2 days late= 20 points off (Highest grade= 80) ◦ 3 days late= 30 points off (Highest grade= 70) ◦ 4 days or more= 0 ◦ I will help remind you about your late work but it is your responsibility to get all assignments turned in.

 If you are sick at any time during the year here is my policy regarding getting make-up work turned in.  Sick for 1 day= You have 1 extra day  Sick 2 days= 2 Extra Days  Sick 3 days= 3 days  I will have all previous assignments stored in a folder but the student is responsible for collecting all make-up work.  If you miss a test or quiz, you will be expected to make those up in the same time frame assignments would be due.

You have 4 minutes between classes so use that time wisely. I will judge if it’s a true emergency.

 We will use technology in the classroom periodically, when its appropriate.  Don’t let me catch you using your phone in class without my permission. I WILL TAKE IT!

 1stPeriod: 7 th Grade Athletics  2 nd Period: Class  3 rd Period: Class  4 th Period: Class  Lunch  5 th Period: Class  6 th Period: Conference Time  7 th Period: Advisory  8 th Period: Athletics  If at ANY time you need help please ask!  Tutoring is available anytime you need it!  You must schedule an appointment with me for tutoring.  Fall- Football  Spring- Baseball

 This will be my 3rd year at AMS.  I coach football and baseball here at GISD.  I graduated from UALR in 2009 with a BS in Science  I played 4 years of college baseball  I graduated from Flower Mound High School in  I currently am in Graduate School at UNT.

 I have been married for 6 years now. My wife, Sheila and I have a 5 year old son Tryston and a 1 year old, Asher.

On the paper provided, Write your name and draw a picture telling me something about you.

 I enjoy working out and being active. Often times you will see me working out in the weight room here at AMS. Practice what I preach!  1 thing I did this summer is to go see Duck Commander from Duck Dynasty.
