Drugs and consciousness in class activity Psychoactive drugs are chemical substances that alter perceptions and moods. It is necessary to investigate the biological, psychological, and social-culture influences of various types of psychoactive drugs. 8 Groups Directions: In your group, use the textbook and online resources to help you research specific information regarding the drug that you have been assigned. Then DISCUSS the following questions with your GROUP. QUESTIONS: 1. What category does your drug belong? 2. Why do people use the drug? 3. What neurotransmitter and action takes place on a cellular level? 4. What are the short term biological, psychological, and social-cultural effects? 5. What are the long term biological, psychological, and social-cultural effects? Once you have read all the documents and answered each question, your group must move on and complete the TASKS below.
