1. Report any fault computer and peripheral to your teacher immediately. 2. Do not bring food and drinks into the computer laboratory. 3. Do not push or knock computers especially when they are running. 2

4. Always keep your computer clean. If your computer is dirty or dusty, wipe with a dry cloth before turning it on. 5. Follow proper steps in switching on and off your computer. 6. Care of the computer mouse  Do not remove the ball.  Do not pull mouse away from the computer.  Do place mouse on a mouse pad. 3

7. Inform your teacher when the printer is not working, jammed and out of ink. 8. Do not remove a disk when the disk drive indicator is blinking. 9. Do not place strong magnets near the computer system  Hard disk can be damaged  Data will be lost 4

10. Obtain teacher’s permission before performing any activity in the laboratory. 11. Report fire or accidents to your teacher immediately. 12. Report to your teacher if you notice any broken plug or cables. 13. Sit in front of your computer in the right posture. 14. Avoid stepping on any wires or cables. 5

15. DO NOT run in the laboratory. 16. DO NOT play in the laboratory. 17. DO NOT eat in the laboratory. 18. DO NOT drink in the laboratory. 6

19. Do not open the system unit casing or monitor casing especially when the power is ON. 20. Do not insert any metal objects into the computer casings. It may cause fire. 21. Do not touch, connect or disconnect any cable without teacher’s permission. 7

22. When using computer: ◦ DO NOT change the desktop in any way. ◦ DO NOT change the screensaver. ◦ DO NOT delete, move, or rename any files. ◦ DO NOT install software downloaded from the Internet or any other source. ◦ DO NOT open personal accounts. ◦ DO NOT install or open chat programs such as Instant Messenger. ◦ DO NOT use computer games like Solitaire without teacher permission. 8
