Does gender have an effect on whether you’re an introvert, or an extrovert? Introvert : a shy and/or quiet person. Extrovert : a more “out going” or loud person. Ambivert : a mix of a introvert and a extrovert.

Prediction My Prediction is that males are more extroverted than females, because, males evolved to be more forceful and dominant. And to dominate, you must be social and out going. In other words, dominant behavior in human beings is linked to extroversion.

Variables Controlled variables The same survey Amount of time they had to take the survey The amount of males and females(7) Changed variable The gender of the volunteer that’s being tested. Measured variable The number of males vs. females that are extroverts.

Materials Quantity females7 males7 survey14

Survey (true or false, about yourself) 1.I prefer 1 on 1 conversations to group activity's 2.I often prefer to express myself in writing. 3.I enjoy solitude 4.I seem to careless than my peers about wealth, fame, and status. 5.I dislike small talk, but enjoy talking in depth about topics that matter to me. 6.People often tell me I’m a good listener. 7.I’m not a big risk taker. 8.I enjoy work that allows me to “dive in” with few interruptions. 9.I like to celebrate birthdays on a small scale with only 2 or 3 close friends or family members. 10.People often describe me as soft spoken or mellow. 11.I prefer not to share my work with others until its finished. 12.I dislike conflict. 13.I do my best work on my own. 14.I tend to think before I speak. 15.I feel drained after being out and about, even if I’ve enjoyed myself. 16.If I had to choose I’d prefer a weekend with nothing to do than to much to do. 17.I don’t enjoy multitasking. 18.I can concentrate easily.

Procedure 1.Gather materials. 2.Hand out survey to the volunteers. 3.Calculate the amount of true or false answers, (the more true answers the more introverted you are. If you get half and half you are a ambivert). 4.Compare the male answers to the female answers.

Results Males 4/7 are extroverts Beau : extrovert Cade : extrovert Gabe : extrovert Mark : extrovert Jack : introvert Leo: introvert Mr. Nadal : introvert Females 2/7 are extroverts Ceria : extrovert Trinity : extrovert Dannie : introvert Lila : introvert Lili : introvert Rebecca : introvert Shea : introvert

Males tend to be slightly more extroverted than females. My prediction was correct.

Conclusion In conclusion, my study shows that, males tend to be slightly more extroverted than females. My evidence is that 4 out of the 7 males tested were extroverts as opposed to the 2 out of 7 females that were extroverts. There were twice as many male extroverts than female extroverts. If I were to do the study again I would like to test more people on introversion and extroversion. I learned that gender does not have a big effect on whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert, but it does have some effect.
