What is a Common Application? One application for 350 colleges and universities nationwide. Printed Applications may be downloaded from or may be completed online. Each college has different deadlines, fees, and requirements.

Signature and Payment Online Payment Mailed Payment Fee Waiver Request All applications are invalid without the student’s signature on the application.

Most schools have an online application. Students must register by creating a username and password for themselves to log on. They can then apply online. For CUNY schools, you must apply through the CUNY Portal.

IMPORTANT!!!!!!! Review each institution’s website for further information and instructions. Supplementary Required Works for most SUNY schools as well. Some institutions may require additional writing samples. Juniors MUST research schools over the summer and receive requirements. They should be applying to 8-10 universities/colleges, which includes at least 1 CUNY and 1 SUNY.
