Not owning your part of the pie enables you to smuggle your issues into your future. Similarly, not dealing with the other person’s wrong against you allows you to smuggle THEIR issues into YOUR future.

How far into your future do you intend to carry the angst created in your past?

How long do you plan to allow the people who mistreated you to influence you?

They decided.

“My past will remind me, not define me.” “My past will remind me, not define me.”

To ensure next time wont be like last time…

Release the past so the past can release you.

Forgive

Forgiveness allows us to leverage the lessons from the past without having to lug along the luggage from the past.

Ephesians 4:26 (NIV) “In your anger do not sin”:

Ephesians 4:26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry…

How many sunsets do you plan for there to be before you finally deal with your anger?

Ephesians 4:27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give ___________ a foothold.

Do you really want to give the person who hurt you the most staging ground in your life to continue to impact your future?

There is a place for anger, but you have to keep anger in its place.

Ephesian 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger…

Ephesian 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling, slander, along with every form of malice.

Ephesian 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other,

Forgiving = Pardon

just as in Christ God forgave you.
