OUR MISSION: To guide those far from God into the new start found in Jesus Christ.

FEAR OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT ME Week Two Matthew 1:18-21, 24 Matthew 1:18-21 “This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: his mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.’”

FEAR OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT ME Week Two Matthew 1:18-21, 24 So why does this matter so much? Firstly Becoming obsessed with what people think about you is the quickest way to forget what God thinks about you. Secondly Becoming obsessed with what God thinks about you is the quickest way to forget what people think about you.

FEAR OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT ME Week Two Matthew 1:18-21, 24 How do we live for God, instead of for people? Thought number one If you’re not ready to be criticized for your obedience to God, you are not ready to be used by God. “If you want to make a difference in this world, you will endure more pain than those who don’t.” - Pastor Craig Groeschel Pleasing God often means disappointing people

FEAR OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT ME Week Two Matthew 1:18-21, 24 How do we live for God, instead of for people? Thought number two Extraordinary acts of God often start with ordinary acts of obedience. The Saviour of the world was born when two teenager said “yes” to God There are times when we want all the details from God We don’t have to see the whole picture to put the first jigsaw puzzle piece in place

FEAR OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT ME Week Two Matthew 1:18-21, 24 How do we live for God, instead of for people? Thought number two Extraordinary acts of God often start with ordinary acts of obedience. Outcome is God’s responsibility; obedience is ours You have no idea what a single act of obedience can set into motion Matthew 1:24 “When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.”

OUR MISSION: To guide those far from God into the new start found in Jesus Christ.
