problems and diseases skin cancer - a malignant, pigmented tumor. leprosy - an infectious disease, known since Biblical times, which is characterized by disfiguring skin lesions, peripheral nerve damage, and progressive debilitation. acne - an inflammatory skin condition characterized by superficial skin eruptions around hair follicles nummular eczema - skin disorder causing characteristic itchy, coin-shaped lesions.

treatments skin cancer- applying a good sun screen daily, wearing protective clothing including hats and sunglasses, and refraining from intentionally lying in the sun or using tanning devices leprosy- avoiding close physical contact with untreated people acne- to develop acne is inherited. acne cannot be prevented, careful cleanliness and gentle skin care can help to lessen the effects nummular eczema- there is no known way to prevent the disorder, avoiding environmental irritants and other aggravating factors may reduce the severity of symptoms in people who have nummular eczema

functions to form a protective layer over the body to help prevent injury and disease to keep moisture in the body (keep water from exiting) to make vitamin D to regulate body temperature to get rid of wastes
